Drone roof inspections in Auckland
A drone roof inspection captures high-resolution aerial images of a roof's condition, ridging, flashings and drainage, without ladders, scaffolding or anyone walking on it. Ours costs $450 + GST as a standalone report, and is included in every Premium building inspection.
When a drone beats a ladder
A standard inspection looks at the roof from a ladder and from the ground, and walks it only where that is safe. That leaves gaps on two-storey and three-storey homes, steep pitches, fragile roofing like old concrete tiles, and townhouses where the roof cannot be seen from the street. A drone sees the whole roof from above, including valleys, ridges, flashings and gutters that would otherwise go unchecked.
What the report shows
The report records the condition of the roof covering, ridging, flashings, penetrations and drainage, with the images to back it up. You see exactly what the inspector saw, which is useful when you are negotiating a price or getting a roofer to quote on a repair.

Drone Roof Inspection questions
How much does a drone roof inspection cost?
A standalone drone roof inspection and report costs $450 + GST. It is also included in our Premium building inspection, from $800 + GST, together with interior thermal imaging and the full pre-purchase inspection.
Why use a drone instead of climbing the roof?
A drone can see every part of the roof, including areas that are unsafe or impossible to reach from a ladder, without the risk of cracking fragile tiles or anyone falling. It also produces images you can keep and show to a roofer.
Is a drone roof inspection included in a standard building inspection?
No. The Standard inspection checks the roof from a ladder and the ground, and walks it where safe. The drone inspection is included in Premium, or can be added on its own.
Which homes benefit most from a drone roof inspection?
