Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and your rights.
Who we are
Affordable House Inspections ("we", "us") carries out building inspections across Auckland and Rodney. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what you can do about it. It follows the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect when you book
The booking form asks for your name, email, phone number, the property address, city and postcode, the property agent's name and phone number, the inspection type, property size, report type, report delivery, any add-ons and any message you choose to leave. We need your contact details and the property address to arrange the inspection; the rest helps us quote and prepare.
Your answers are saved as you go. What you have entered so far is saved to our booking system each time you press Continue, and also if you leave the page or switch to another tab before submitting. If you leave before finishing and have given us an email or phone number, we may send a short follow-up (no more than two messages) to help you complete the booking. If you would rather we did not, tell us and we will stop and delete the partial booking.
How we use it
- To confirm and carry out your inspection, including contacting the property agent to arrange access.
- To send your booking confirmation, payment link and report.
- To answer your questions and keep a record of the work for our business and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for unrelated marketing.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the services that help us run the business: our website and booking system provider (Webgun), our email delivery service, and Stripe, which processes payments when you pay by the secure payment link (we never see your card details). The property agent receives what is needed to arrange access. These providers may store information outside New Zealand, for example in Australia or the United States, under their own security and privacy commitments.
Website analytics and cookies
We use website analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics and Google Ads, loaded through Google Tag Manager, measure visits, the pages viewed and whether a booking was made after an ad was clicked. Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and produces heatmaps and session replays. The booking form and anything you type into it are masked, so Clarity does not capture what you enter.
These tools use cookies and similar technologies, and the data they collect is processed by Google and Microsoft. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers a Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Read more in the Google Privacy Policy and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and inspection records for as long as we need them for the purposes above and to meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations, then delete them.
Your rights
